I believe some can be. I started running grey fox about 4 years ago with my Cheyenne dog .She was 6 years old and had never given me much trouble on yotes. After treeing a few fox i started having coyote races.I really enjoy running fox, they make a bobcat look clumsy but if i had it to do over i probably wouldn't do it again.I think it depends on the dog you're hunting as some are just more intelligent. My Rogue dog and his pup ,Lacy seem to be lacking in that department.lol

Yes dogs can run fox & be broke off yotes. Yes I have done it, but had the help of a bought female, who just happen to be the Grand mother of Dewey/s pepper female. however when one uses the term broke, best say broke until they run a yote. I had a pack of seven dogs that had passed up many hot yote tracks, however one day had a young hound take a hot yote and the whole pack joined. Took only a short time & two older hounds came back, had to drive around a high ridge, caught the others red handed as the yote ran down the road ahead of me. Had some very good houndsmen tell me only a fool or rookie would bet the farm that a hound would never trash. I have owned some that sure went years without trashing, but I learned to never say never, when speaking of a broke hound. This does not mean others have not experience different. Al
