http://news.wpr.org/post/2-wolves-were- ... -dogs-weekYes people, it is possible to run wolves with hounds and shoot them. Now that it has been legally done in WI, people need to know that it does work.

When those fellas meet with the wardens they should take all the picture's they can find of dogs killed by wolves and have the dnr pass those along to Rachel Tilseth with a note that says the wolves were more humanley killed then all the hounds the wolves have killed over the years.

Budd Denny you are 100% right. From what i understand and from what ive seen these guys are trying to find a single wolf or a pair and throw 6 dogs on them at a time which is the max. Im pretty sure everyone around here is smart enough to not throw dogs on a pack of 5 or 6 or more wolves. We all know what they can do. Yes it is ironic that people are using the same dogs that they run on bear to do this but at the sametime if you are smart about it no dogs will be killed and like Budd said these wolves are being harvested more humanely then a pack of wolves treats a hound.

This can only work in roaded up country.
A single track does not mean there are not 10 more a mile away. Congrats on the kills but it would be a death sentence in this country.

Not gonna get in a pissin match but pretty sure these two wolves were harvested in the National Forest, which is FAR from 'roaded up country'.
Until you have done something, (to steal a line from one of the gods), "you don't know, what you don't know".
They just may react different when they are the ones being hunted...

Could be the fact NCB ,but without a lot of roads and knowing you have the wolf boxed in a how would you know that wolf isn't 20 miles away. That only 3 hours of travel for a wolf.

I would go along the lines of Chilcotin Hillbilly and say you must not be too attached to your dogs if you are going to do it out west.... not even legal anyway...
