Very few guys try it because of the poor access and unbelievable thick cover, mostly alders. I've been guiding up there for the past 18 years and I've yet to find a place were it would be feasible. Thought about it many times. Wished I'd had my dogs with me to follow up on some bears a few times but in most areas, it would be tough. Maybe down in the southeast where there's some logging but even there, most logging is done by remote helicopter. Would love to hear some stories if you can find the area to run in.

I agree with Dean. I spent 4 seasons up there. Thick country..... I know of one guy that did it on POW island and that's it.
