Swollen Knee

I noticed the a two year old female has a badly swollen knee (front first joint up)one week after her last run. One knee slightly puffy on the front and the other one swollen and hard out to the front (like a knob on the front). She doesn't seem to favor it when loose and runs around but does show that it bothers her when i put both feet in ice water. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
