Some pics of some old ones of mine... still keeping my old black line going, also between hunting friends we keep a line of white terriers. Both are good earth-dogs.

Also some of our lurchers thrown in too, I will do a regular upload if folk are interested.

Good hunting, HH

Kyboy I hunt my running dogs all the time in fact we would catch very little if they couldn't hunt with their nose they will trail a fox well enough for me at least and we do catch quite a few. I bring them up to it. I have run them with hounds and pointers in the past and I guess they picked up a few pointers on the way now it is second nature to them and they will get into the tightest places to find a fox.

Yeah mate, you know me...

That yellow dog had the worst coat Ive seen on any hunting dog, and when your out foxing on the fells, maybe waiting a while, when the terrier is below, he was a sorry sight at times!

I usually have a variation of sizes to hand, as I find small ones very useful at times, but I dont want weedy, or too weak, they still have to run the hills and I hunt 6 days a week so I like some substance to them in general.

My biggest was probably 20lbs, smallest maybe 9lbs ...and everywhere in between!

Kyboy, some lurchers are fantastic hunters. See that bully lookin yellow dog there, he was a foxing machine, I put the old dog down last summer, Im not bigging him up, he had his faults too, but by heck he would feck off and find anywhere, I hunted mostly open hill with him. He was a solid marker too if one went to ground he would remain all day chewing and digging at the hole, this also has drawbacks as I had to dig him out several times. He took plenty of other game too, deer, rabbit, hare, boar. I brake all my terriers and lurchers to feathered game as I do pest control on shooting estates.

Ive had collie lurchers that were ok hunters too. They usually retrieve small game back for you, its easily taught. But the bull blooded ones can be less inclined to do so!

They work a hot track very fast! They will search for game that is laying up in cover, then hunt, chase, and kill.
