Is there anybody that tries to run strictly or almost strictly bobcats in Utah, Colorado or Wyoming? What kind of success rate are you seeing and what is your biggest hang up? Just curious thanks in advance for your time.

I live and hunt COLORADO bobcats as much as I can, Have had hounds for over 25 years and drive over many lion tracks to run one of these little bastards . My wife got me a computer and I found this awesome forum .I would of never known how advanced and hardcore THE WESTCOASTBOYS are at bobcat hunting. I thought I was doing pretty good till I started talking to the WESTCOASTBOYS, they said I can do better! I catch 38 percent of the cats I run . I got to raise the bar this year ! I drafted 3 cat bred hounds from OREGON this year , and they are nice . Trying to make the best cat pack team I can find and afford .My coon bred hounds I have now are the best I have ever had. Are scent condition are one of the biggest hang ups. A hounds got to have a good nose or be willing to develop one .But ROCK,ROCKS, AND MORE ROCKS are my biggest hang up . Most COLORADO HOUNDS are good at getting around them but bobcats are way different then lions. Pressure is the name of the game with bobbies. When I run bobbers I take my best bobcat dogs from my BIGGAME PACK .I got so much to learn and enjoying every chase of the WILDCAT!!!! Timothy Morgan 719-395-1214

Hey Tim, I'm gonna be trying to run strictly bobcats here in CO. This will be my first year with dogs. I've been using Mike Leonards method. I have no trainer dogs or mentors. Give me a shout and 303-856-8365 my name is Nic. I'll be looking for cats every weekend now that I am done with the Army.

Ridgerunner, keep after them bobcat but if you are running them in heavy rock areas dont let anyone blow steam up your butt about catching everyone as it just dont happen. Pure fact dogs cant go through the heavy rock like cats! Andy

Twist, glad you understand the rock problem. I know there aint the prefect dog but I really like how these WestCoast dogs fly. Only time will tell and I had to know. PINON- CEDAR COUNTRY IS TOUGH HERE TO CATCH CATS HERE TOO!

Ty, One is a 3 year old gyp. From the Coos Bay area/ catches her own and a ball of fire. Number 2 is a red /white male 15 months .That I got from Dewey / started and gritty. Number 3 is a over year Mike Kemp bred hound out of Blackjack junior. Well started easy going hound. I got these hounds early so they would acclimate. I know just because I got some new hounds doesn't mean I will start catching more cats! but I wanted to see if it would help ( life is to short to not chase your dreams) I really like how they run on track exspecially on the jump. I really believe that the houndsman has a lot to do with making there hounds the best they can be , so here we go ----------------------
