Any of you Utah fellas caught anything? We found a track on the opener but it was old and burned out. Hot Hot Hot. The dogs won't last long in heat like this!

Hopefully I'll find something a little more fresh this weekend!

Mort,

Get those mean walkin' pricks out of the gene pool so us boys from the North don't have to deal with 'em.

Heard your mountain was a wee bit crowded opening weekend. ;)

ya dawg it was a little over crowded from what i hear.. i stayed on the blanding side and only ran into tony and rick and there crew.. Did tony ever say if they saw that bear they were chasing on the opener.. Im pretty sure it was the one i walked all day yesterday.. Just talked to a guy from california who is runnin one in the same spot as both me a tony and its just been walking him since daylight.. Ill agree this one needs to be harvested this fall..

The first few days, We were up on Manti. The Gov. hunters are killing all the bear up there. Not enough food for the bear so they are harassing the sheep.
We have been on San Jaun from Thursday till today (sunday). Alot of hunters but we treed a few. The weather was great.

I will be up Scofield / Skyline area this weekend. The Gov. trapper told me to call and I can chase any bear that are causing trouble with the sheep. Good luck I might see you up there. I will be in a Polaris Ranger, or on a Honda Rubicon.

Nice

I'll be on a Suzuki King quad with an ugly looking wooden box or Nissan pickup with that same ugly wood box strapped on the back of my strike deck! I'll look for you.

Good luck! Hopefullly we can chase them off before the gov. hunters get to them!

I finally got a chance to take some of my hounds out Sunday and look for a bear. They bumped once and then blew pretty good air on the second rig so I kicked my six and eight year old red dogs down. They went straight to the track and started a cold trail so I DTFB behind them. There was five finished hounds and two young dogs bohooing down the tracks. It was early, probably 6:30 at the latest.

The track was slow but a guy always thinks maybe the bear didn't go far and they'll bump him before it gets hot. I cut the hounds off around 9:00 AM and they were moving the track pretty darn slow and getting heated up, so I watered them all and they went back to trailing. Lady luck still didn't shine on us that day as they quit the trail just before noon and came to the road.

What I need is a hound that can speak the english language and tell me whether the track is catchable............
