Im trying to draw up some plans for a new box im wanting my dogs to be able to hang there heads out of it. My question is how tall would yall make it ? My dogs are all about average size 50 pound dogs. How tall would yall make the head holes.
Thanks for any input.

Is it for a flatbed or factory bed? Above the bed height on factory and around 19 inches otherwise. It really depends on what you want. Some guys want the box shorter to keep the dogs down and not barking, others use a e collar. Look through the different homemade boxes and see what you like most. Mine are taller so the dogs can comfortably stand inside. But the holes are covered with expanded metal screen. Simple or complex its your choice.

Its on a flatbed. I want them to be able to stand and be comfortable. If there in there barkin and bein goofy for no reason they get disaplined. I measured my tallest hound for height to get an idea. I was just wondering if any of yoy guys had kinda a standard height yall used. This will be the 1st one iv done where there heads hangout that isnt for greyhounds and there quite abit taller

I usually use 24 inch sides because 4x8 material works out good and gives plenty of room for the dogs to stand.

I measure to the top of the shoulder of my biggest hound and add two inches. My box is 22 inches high inside with 6" round holes for there heads. I have a hinged door to cover the holes in bad weather or when hauling pups.
