I went to the cove road a couple weeks ago and seen quite a few hunters up there. it worked out good for me because they had already opened the road and I had no trouble getting around with my old beater with street tires lol thanks guys. so I am wondering if any of you guys went up there this last week end? or did it snow completely in. when I lived in Grangeville thirteen years ago, I made it a point to go all the way thru to mill crk and back every other night so the road was open all winter. wondering if there is some young buck serious enough to keep it broke open these days? I will say that it sure is nice to see so many young hunters enjoying our sport here in Idaho. good hunting this winter all

I seen four bob tracks. tried one didn't get a tree. the younger crowd beat me to the upper part and they were working on a lion track so I stayed low corey.

went to the cove road yesterday and it was open but a mess to drive . seems like every year there is kid that just got his first truck and has to fishtail in the snow. then the ruts freeze and for the rest of the winter it beats the hell out of you. we did manage to have a good race that wound up treed down in grouse creek. my young dog boy tried but he couldn't find them down in that sh##t hole. we could hear them from the top but I guess he lost hearing on his way down? lol these are the hazards of growing old and crippled and having to rely on a dog boy. its better than sitting on the couch tho. for you lion hunters in the area,,,there is a big tom hanging down low on bear trap. good hunting all

so I went to the cove again sat eve to look for a bobcat to harass and also to cut some clean ruts in the road system. didn't find a runnable bobcat track but I did come across the lion that is hanging down low on bear trap. I really wish one of you young guys would go tree him because its hard for me to keep passing on him and I am too dam old to crawl around on them cliffs above the river like I did when I was younger. he walked nearly the whole length of the last road on the right at the bottom of bear trap. it looked like somebody tried his track earlier on sat. that was he track I seen on Friday night. anyway he came back and walked on top of whoever left tracks while trying his older track. I am guessing but I bet he is a big mature tom. I hope to read on here that one of you guys got him...good luck all

When I tree him, you will still keep seeing his tracks afterwards. Too many getting killed as it is.
