Dates are tentatively set for the 2015 Bobcat Rendezvous.
May 22nd & 23rd, 2015
Quachita National Forest-200,000 + Bobcat huntable acres near Honobia, Oklahoma
These dates and location are tentative, depending on feedback from those planning to attend. We had a fair amount of attendance last year (first annual) and all I've talked to are planning on attending this year.
Bring your dogs and trading stuff, we'll have a good time. We might even catch a cat?

OKLAHOMA BOBCAT RENDEZVOUS--2015

MAY 22 & MAY 23,2015---DATE SET

LOCATION: HONOBIA STORE CAMPGROUND (LAST YEARS LOCATION)
HONOBIA, OK
PH#580-244-3725

DETAILS:
Hunters and hound men come and enjoy the camping out and meeting of fellow
bobcat hunters from around the country. Nothing planned other then visiting,
seeing/showing hounds, & hunting if you choose to do so.

COST: None for the gathering.

If you wish a camping spot with power, water, sewage hookup---call Shawana at
the Honobia Store--580-244-3725.

If you wish to hunt--check with the Oklahoma Wildlife Dept. for license & trespass
fee for Three Rivers/Honobia WMA's.

Note: Hunters--will arrange to have someone guide you or show your area. Alpaha
100 with Birdseye will be very helpful. Download all the areas around
Honobia, Smithville, Bethel, Nashobia, & Battiste. That should cover more
then 70,000+ acres to be hunted, likely more?

Don Stuckey will be providing dining tents and doing some of his great cowboy cooking. Jim Jackson from MS has volunteered to bring some fish and do that cooking. Any one else have any suggestions regarding meals, times, or any other suggestions to make event "bigger or better" just emal me at ccwlawson@aol.com or text me at 918-850-3421 or contact Don Stuckey at 806-786-4714.

Any questions? Call either one of us whenever you can?

NOTE: Some hunters are going to come early and hunt and some have stated that they are going to stay a few days over and hunt? I hope to stay for all of the above and hunt!

That sounds like a blast. I used to live down at Broken Bow, Oklahoma and I know that area very well. A real good friend of mine who raises some really nice Plott Hounds lives over at Smithville and we used to spend alot of time following hounds in that area. Somewhere around here I still have my lifetime hunting and fishing license for Oklahoma. I might even have to tree a squirrel or two being as the season starts on May 15th. I've even got an ex-wife traipsing around down there somewhere.

How many people did y'all have show up last year?
It would be a long haul, but I'm thinking real serious about making the drive this year. It sounds like a fun time.

Tex,

Hope you can make it!

Your friend would not be Billy Bailey would it? If so, suspect he will be there?

Last year there were over 100+ hunters, we were somewhat disorganized and did not get a sign up pad available for all to sign until the second day was about over. Another thing we had 3 days where this year we are going to have for only 2 days. Were going to attempt to have mid day meals so as it will be enjoyed by more that attend. Last year we ate late in evening and many had already left some for home and some were gone hunting?

There were 9 states represented & there were some good hunts, even with some hard rains through the area.

Area has not changed that much--still lots of country, rough, with lots of game!

Sure you will know number of people & get to put number of names with faces. Plus see number of hounds!

Better count me in ,I'll leave on friday morning. IF DON can't go ,I'll see about bringing his tent. I've got 5 young hounds ,all under 10 months. Running stock out of south Texas blood lines.
