Colorado Mountain lion hunting

Hello everyone, my name is Shadow Williams. I'm new to Colorado but not the world of hunting with hounds. I live in Loveland CO. Not directly in the mountains but not a far trip to Estes. My main reason for this post is to see if anyone could give me advice on good spots to go with in a 2-3 hour trip or if anyone in CO is looking for a hunting partner or would allow me to tag along. I have my own gear and at the moment one solid bluetick. Going to be getting some walkers here soon. Hopefully I'll hear back from someone. Other wise good luck to everyone this season.

I moved away from Colorado several years ago but if the Bosque Del Oso SWA allows hound hunting it would be a great place to hunt. The middle park or down by Bailey would be next option. There are cats along the front range but I'm afraid the all the private land would create problems and a lot of the people in the foothills are not friendly towards hunting. If you don't mind driving out west towards Gypsum/Dotsero it could be good too. Good luck - Preston

I'm not real familiar with that area up there but down around salida in the Arkansas river basin is pretty good 2 or three hr drive and don't trade the blueticks for walkers lol

Just being curious, when the quotas full, are you still allowed to catch and release?

No! There is no training season in CO. either. Don't get caught in a closed area with dogs.

I suppose you gotta walk a fine line when trying to explain what your running to a warden in a closed area. I actually prefer bear training season here over kill season just due to the fact there is a lot less "berrypickers" runnin around.
