What are you all using for a hunting knife. I want a nice fixed blade made in USA only.

I have boxes full of knives, all kinds shapes and sizes. From cheap to custom made. However thru this last season outfitting a good number of elk and deer hunters I find myself reaching for my Outdoor Edge Razor-Lite Pro more and more. This knife is handy although not a fixed blade, it has razor sharp reasonably priced packs of replacement blades, and unlike the original Havalon Pyranta they are sturdy. The new upgraded Havolons are better but this OE knife is the best I have used. If you want to spend your time hunting and not sharpening knives I would truely consider this one. When you are out in the brush with a big bull down it is so nice to have a truely razor sharp knife to get the work done. They don't cost like a really high quality fixed blade so you can take the money you saved and buy dog food.

All i use anymore is the havalon pyrata, and the havalon saw. They are awesome!!!! I still have my other hunting knives in my bag, but they rarely get used cause the havalons are so sharp and work for everything. If your set on a fixed blade I like the kershaw and gerber they are tuff, cheap, and hold an edge good. Go with the havalon you won't regret it.

I carry 2 knives on me when I go out. An old shrade lock blade, I love that old knife, then an Outdoor edge lock blade. It has a full gut glade and a regular. I forget what they call it, its basically there swing blade made into a 2 blade locking knife.
