What does (and their is no persue season here) mean? There is a few bears around Flagstaff, But the majority are down on the rim South and east of Flag. Which is not that much farther. there is a few units open in August but most units do not open until October.

I don't know what you are talking about Big John, I live here (In The White Mountains) and there is no persuit season at all for bears. Guess you need to read up on your regs....

Rockman; Just asking a question? Do you mean a traing season or are you saying you can not run bears with dogs? By the way I can resite the reg's frontwards or backwards. Just asking for some clarfication for those who do not know the regs. Persuit means Training? which there is no training season but to someone else it might mean running bears with dogs which is legal in Arizona. I will go back and edit my 1st post. for better clarfication. John

John I didn't mean to insult your intelligence, most houndsmen do know what a persuit season is for. We are all fellow houndsmen and need not get into a foolish argument such as this. Your first post that you revised is much clearer. Who knows we may meet in the woods sometime, with our hounds....

Cal lots of pears have not been up in the high country yet but I would assume that he barries and acorn will be plentful.
Rockman: I was not offended. clarity is what we needed there on both sides. Hope to run into you sometime. John

I think I'm heading of to Law School next fall so that means getting rid of all my dogs. . . When I got into this game four or five years ago I told myself I would never get that attached, but as you all know it was the opposite. Anyways one of my goals is to kill a big bear with my dogs and I can't draw a kill tag to save my life. I think this will be my last fall with my dogs and I would love to check that bear of my goals. I have several bear dogs, rig or cold trail, I just don't know where to go? Can anyone give me a place or an area to rig?
