Mike, This is an excellent story and a true depiction of bare ground hunting in the southwest. Very often these hunts take numerous days to be successful and that is why most true bare ground lion hunts are booked for a 10 days. Warner and Kelly just like Dad and Grandad Marvin Glenn, know every inch of these moutains and althought with lion hunting nothing is ever a certain thing you can bet your odds are much better with consumate professionals like these.
A note of interest to those who read this article. Scotty the young cowboy helping on this hunt is none other than Scott Dierrenger Junior, the son of famous dry ground lionhunter Sam Dierrenger and grandson of famous lionhunter/cowboy Scott Sr. This is another family that has left a deep mark on the mountains of Arizona
