time of year?

What is the best time of year to get a pup? If I can get one this spring will it be ready to hunt by this winter?
I like to get them in the summer at 8 weeks old.
Have them bout 6 months old for cat season, 8 months old by the time its done.
They arent going to be treeing game on there own, but seem to be old enough to keep up with older dogs for short runs.
Train and train some more, then start conditioning for the beginning of the following season.
By next season they know what to do for the most part, and can keep up on the whole hunt.
