Had a big Tom track come down my fence line within a 100 yards of my house. I heard one of my dogs open up yesterday morning about 8 am I'm guessing that was about the time it was making tracks. Cougar opens up on the 10 th of September I can't wait. this tom is a true chilcotin hog.

HI DOUG. THAT IS PRETTY COOL. ONE MORNING I SPOTTED A HUGE TOM TRACK THAT CROSSED ERIC'S DRIVEWAY NOT 50 FEET FROM THE GRAVEL ROAD. WE HAD BEEN TO ANAHIM LAKE FOR A FEW DAYS AND MISSED HIM. YOU KNOW HOW FAR HIS HOUSE SITS OFF THE MAIN ROAD. HE WAS HOOKING ER' FOR HORN PEAK COUNTRY. ALSO HAD ONE JUST BELOW YOU THAT WAS ON THE FLAT. HAD TO WAIT OUT THE MORNING SCHOOL BUS AS HE WAS MILLING AROUND THE ROAD.HUNTER FROM WISCONSIN HARVESTED THAT ONE, THEY JUST DON'T SEEM TO MIND PEOPLE.A GOOD FEELING WHEN YOU CO-EXHIST WITH THEM ! ESPECIALLY THE KIDS PLAYING IN THE YARD . THINK HE NEEDS TO BE EDUCATED!SURE THAT IS THE SAME CAT, HE WALKED RIGHT BY THE KENNEL ON THE HILL BEHIND ERIC'S SHOP AND WAS HEADING NORTH WEST.DOUG YOU NEED TO PROMOTE YOUR AREA AS YOU HAVE NOT ONLY THE FIRST WORLD RECORD LION. BUT THE POTENTIAL FOR BEATING THE WORLD RECORD LION. THEY ARE THERE!ANY ONE LOOKING AT SOME OF THE POST FROM THE OTHER CANADIAN HUNTER FROM ALBERTA AND IS IMPRESSED, TO THINK YOU CAN ACTUALLY BEAT THOSE CATS IS AMAZING. HAVE FUN WITH THE HOGS. MIKE

Before I started guiding we harvested 2 big toms that had crossed the driveway. Saw the tracks taking the kids down to the bus. Thats the way to start the day, only in the Chilcotin.

Another tom I missed out on as I was hunting West Branch that day but I caught up to him the next day above the lake where he had ran into that huge old tom. That big boy chased him clear over the mountain. I got the first cat 2 weeks later, he was skin and bones because he had been bitten though the bottom of his jaw and the top of his head. Never saw tracks of the big boy for 2 years after that . I hope I can get him for a client before he dies of old age.
