I can't beleive it either. I swear season just got over. Been so busy the summer flew by. Don't think I can get the time off to go over to the coast this year, or at least not right now during early season. Its always so miserable over there opening weekend anyways. Good luck to all. I have to sit here and wait like a sucker until I can hunt my backyard. (the great thing about living in BFE)

Just a day away.
I'll be going to A zone in about 2 weeks. Would be sooner, but I've been slackin' slightly. I haven't even bought my bear tag.

But where I live, after tomorrow Archery's open and I can't even go road the dogs.

When does Californias season change so you can run all your dogs?

The rifle deer season starts Sep.20 and runs until Nov.2.One dog per person until deer season is over, after that it's a free for all.

That's just where I'm at in central Cal.I think the deer seasons vary a little bit throughout the state.

Man they sure ripped us off on our dates this year. Can't run dogs until Nov.
Anyone doing any good over there on the coast? Getting any up? Stopping any? I'm still half tempted to go if I can get the time off...
Heard theres already been some bad luck, and them bears haven't changed much. Two dogs killed opening weekedn. One the littermate brother to my Aspen dog. (Buster)
I almost don't think it's worth messing with those bears. No since "proving" you've got dogs to stop them, when it's pretty much a guaranteed death sentence.
Who all is going over to C zone when it opens? I'm gonna make the trip there for sure. I already got that weekend off work.
Make sure you are not in a fire closure area

a word to the wise...some of the C4 zone is still closed to the public. There were alot of fires all over CA and alot of the areas are still closed to the public, big un-fun fines for getting caught inside the closure.

Heres a link to the different California zones and their opener dates for the General deer seasons, and of course the Bear openers on the same days.
