Looks like us uneducated hunters need to go back to school. This is part of a statement made in a midwest wolf conference. You can read the whole article in the Wisconsin Outdoor News under "Midwest Wolf conference biased".

Wow. Yea us dumb rednecks from MT have no idea about wolf management. We had them eradicated once and then got them shoved back down our throats because the "educated" people thought it was best!

The statements by Maureen Hackett in the article (see link) are exactly why we feel that a bachelor's degree in critical thinking is necessary. I think I am dumber for having read her statements!

Whoa now bigsky I was referring to the article not your comment ha! Most of the people pushing for things like this don't even spend time out in the wilderness, or know of the consequences of such actions. These educated "bachelors degree" folks have tunnel vision and aren't looking at the bigger picture.

I'm so glad that us tax payers here in Minnesota get help pay for the government trappers. I think howling for wolves should be paying for any wolf problems

Oh no offense meant Zach. Sorry if I came off too abrupt. I just like to hear people who want to argue with me about the wolves haha! Sounds like we're on the same page lol. Sorry for any confusion.

I believe there is a place for wolves, and it's up here in Alaska and rural Canada like Yukon. I do not feel that there are too many places in the lower 48 (and Montana is probably the most wide open) where human and wolf habitat wouldn't overlap as much(it was found out before, that is why they are being re-introduced in many places) especially in a place where there is not a sufficient food source to sustain numbers that have grown exponitially(Great Lakes areas for example). I wish when all these people that decide to reintroduce animals to a place that they have previously been eradicated they would look at it more in depth from other angles. In a lot of ways it's a great idea, but like I said previously it just sounds cooler to bring wolves back more than anything. Even here in the largest state, they become problems rapidly, just for the sheer rate that they reproduce. They destroy moose caribou and small game hunting. For many years in a row the department of fish and game here has flown helicopters to wipe out hoardes of them just to keep other populations up. I'm talking ridiculous numbers. I encourage anyone that reads this to google it if you don't believe me. If you hate wolves, come here, I have a 10 wolf a year limit in my area.
