Does anyone use the lightfoot hounds here, on the ukc boards there is a big following for them almost cult like but then again I am a plott man and a huge fan of blackwater, whitehollow and pocahontus lines in the plott world. But back to the nature of this post I was wondering if they really live up to their hype.

I dont know anything about them dogs but over on the UKC board I dont think there is that many of them lightfoot guys over there but the ones that are there love to hear them selfs talk. Every one got tired of them and quit going over there. They should just change the name of the board to the lightfoot board

Use them and love the hardiness if them.
Vance it must suck to not be proud of the dogs you run.

I do tend to agree with Van about them dominating the big game portion of the board at the UKC, I have heard of them being pretty versatile but it was from the four people who are responsible for 80+% of the posts.

Brian I am very proud of my dogs (most of the time

). If I didn't like them then I wouldn't own them. A man cant be serious all the time and if you cant laugh at your self some times then life woulnt be any fun.

I am not trying to start anything, just looking for an opinion that did not include the main guys from the ukcboard.

Just wondering what the problem is? Usually the posts include some pretty cool pics. I wish others would share pics of critters caught and pics of the dogs they run. Thats what I like the most no matter what breed of dog or what game is treed.

I agree with cat guy. I may not have the best hounds going, but I like my dogs and they put up game most of the time, I run a real mixed bag of types of dogs but like to see pics of everybodies dogs and the game they catch.

I think I can safely say that no one has a problem with looking at someones pictures, no matter what breed they may run.
It was something more then that is what drove people off the site

I know two of the guys that you fellows are talking about and I can tell you they are stand up guys who recognize merit in all hounds, show fellow hounds men the up most respect give more to the field trials than anyone and are always willing to help out a new hounds man.
Now having said that the hounds they raise and train are pretty dam good and I think some day I will have a Lightfoot hound in my kennel but it has to be a BLUE ONE.

I never meant any of my posts to be taken ill. I have corresponded with Jess Kinkaid several times and respect him a lot, I have never talked with Brian Chorney or anyother lightfoot guy so I hope no one takes this post as a disrespectful one. I was just wondering how these dogs have faired through out the country? Who knows I may even pick up a light foot hound later but that will be later or if an oppurtunity shows up. I know they have a great reputation and was wondering if that was true through out the big game world as Jess started off as a coonhunter and still is an avid coon hunter.
