Hi Guys,

I am going to be moving to Phoenix this fall and was wondering what I can expect in the way of hunting opportunities? I was on the DNR website and found a list of available seasons for deer, sheep, javalina, and cats. How is the hunting? What are the game populations like and how is the hunting pressure? Do cats roam as far south as Phoenix? I also found a bunch of state forest (?) to the North East of the city, can anyone confirm if you are allowed for hunt there? Thanks for the info in advance.

We have a wide range of species. The hunting is generally good the terrain can be trying in areas. The wildlife is more limited by water then feed in most cases. Lions inhabit about every square foot of az. The trick is figuring where that happens to be on any given day.

Thanks Pegleg, I am looking forward to seeing some new scenery, it should be an adventure if nothing else.
