I asked my son when he graduated what he would like to do for a hunting trip. He said his dream hunt would be hogs with dogs!!!! I am in and so was my wife and daughter.
It sure is different then what we are used to being as we are used to dogs trailing and a little bit more noise.
It was awesome, we hunted 3 night and caught 5 total. the last one being a good boar which we stuck.
The terrain, swamps, gators and cotton mouths combined with 90 degree weather, made this night hunting exciting.
We used 3 Back Mouth Curs, the female did most of the work but the old vet was the catching machine.

If you haven't tried hog hunting give it a go.

Congratulations on your family trip! Seems everyone had a good time from the smiles. It is great to see an entire family out hunting together, keep it up because time flies.

Sounds like a good time had by all, being in the hogs makes all the difference in the world for a good hunt.

We rigged and freecast for 8 hours one night with nothing. Loaded up one of the dogs just as the female got one on the go. That was the wet sow in the pictures. Still was a good night.

Looks like a blast, did you go with an outfitter? If so,who? I have been to Texas before and had a good time, but we hunted without dogs. I would like to do the dog thing! One thing for sure, hogs are under- rated as a game animal.

I went with a taxidermist you guides for gators who just happened to have some cur dogs. You will never go back to still hunting or stand hunting for hogs once you chased them with dogs.
