Lee Brother Hunting

I just discovered some very cool information to add to the Lee Brothers hunting in Nayarit Mexico from the early 60's.

The name of a houndsmen from Tennessee surfaced, I suspect this man would be long gone. Hoping to find a family member or friend that possibly owns or hunts hounds on this board.

The mans name is/was Charlie Suttle, Charlie hunted Bluetick hounds...Charlie was in Mexico with Dale in 1962, as I understand without his hounds.

Any information would be greatly appreciated! This is simply part of history of hound hunting and to fill some gaps in the information I have on hand.

Thanks

Well George Pavey is still around and he was down there with Dale at this same time so someone can get ahold of him and find out. I have heard of Charlie but I don't know anything about him.

86 year old Charlie Suttle.. talked to him on the phone for a while.. he is as sharp as a tac.. He is a houndsman himself and not only was in Mexico with Dale also went to Bolivia with him... Since I just had the opportunity to sit down and talk to another guy that was down in Mexico with Dale and I videoed that and scanned his pictures.. I'm trying to figure out how I can get to Tennessee and sit down and talk and video Charlie and scan his pictures.... Tennessee is long ways for me to go but I think I can get it done..

Too hot to do much of anything else

Brett,

We will pass the hat up at the gathering pens on the Blue when we all meet up there, as I am sure every person there will be behind this project 100%!

Thank you!

I hope you get it done, Brett. Come fall, I am planning on heading back east for the exact same type of trip. Between bear hunting, shipping calves and the beginning of hunting here, something will have to give and I'm betting it may be my bear hunting trip. Those trips cost money and the Hostile Native said I was going to have to choose, because we couldn't afford so many trips this year.

Getting those stories and pictures saved is the most important though. I can always go on a bear hunt, but those old-timers aren't going to be around much longer. I hope you are able to finagle a way to go. Ask Mr Suttle if he would be willing to record some of his stories on a micro cassette. That will help you to save some time, so you can cover more country when you are able to make the trip.

Mike already offered to help, so I will second that. If you need help, ask Mike. HaHa. Seriously, if I can help in any way, please let me know. I'd gladly kick in some cash for expenses. A trip like that gets spendy, but the results will be worth far more than any expense.
