Running Lions in Wolf country

I am a first time visitor following a comment from another hunting forum regarding elk numbers and predation by lions and wolves. I hunted lion quite a few years ago with a fellow that was from the Cody area. We hunted Colorado over by Eagle and one of the conversations we had was along the lines of "why do you come all the way down to Colorado to lion hunt? Aren't there plenty of lions in Cody area?" His answer was that if you run your dogs up there the wolves will kill them. He said the baying brings the wolves in and his little redbones would be toast. So anyway, FWIW, the idea that has my attention is that if lion populations are no longer able to be controlled in areas where wolves are present due to the likeliness of dogs being killed then the effect of wolf introduction has an even more amplified effect on ungulate numbers than most hunters may realize. Thanks for any thoughts you can share.
