I have, lost it at around a year old to a lion. Bit and crushed his eye socket and part of his skull. I sold him to an outfitter in Colorado a year ago at 7 years old, I've kept in touch with him and he says he's the best dog he's ever owned. I ran him on lion bobcat and bear, good on everything. Only time I ever seen it bother him was on a mean bayed up bear,if anything bumped him on his blind side he'd jump and look to see what it was. I wouldn't worry about it much.

I had a female that got bit in the head by a bearand she ended up losing a eye . It took awhile for her to heal up only downside was she was a little slower getting through the woods. I kept her for 6 more years and then gave her to a guy last year because his main dog's got killed by some wolves. Hope that helps.

Thank y'all. So u think it might slow her down just a little? She is a very fast young hound. Like tons of speed.

My buddy has a blue tick that's as tough as they come, on more than one occasion I've seen get mauled by a hog and then roll on out on another one, the last time she got cut bad we caught a good boar and she joined in on the fight, got hooked right in the eye socket and her eye was literally ripped out, I saw her bleeding from her head but didn't know the severity of it until we caught her 4 hours later still running, we took her to the vet and had it cut the rest of the way out and sewed shut, now she bays looser and is a little slower making her a better trail dog in my opinion.
