I got asked to go an a lion hunt in Nevada a few days ago and I was wondering if anybody could tell me what to expect. We were gonna go in October to the Humboldt-Toiyabe Forest east of Ely. We'd be hunting off of horses and was wondering if there's quite a few cats in the area and if we'd stand a good chance of treeing something in 6 or 7 days of hunting. If anybody knows anything about this area let me know. I'd hate to waste gas money if there wasn't a good chance of getting to run something.

That is a good area to find lions, it would not be a waste of gas money, and I am sure you could find a couple lions in a week.

Beware lots of biggame hunting and folks in the woods at that time. Lots of lion hunters in the local area but still some cats around. Any time lion hunting is worth the gas. Good luck
