Turkey Dog

Yesterday morning, I was roading my three older dogs with two gyps that are just over a year old. It was not quite daylight but I could see dogs hunting alongside and in front of the pickup as I drove. As I rounded a curve, I could see a dog coming with something big in its mouth and another dog trying to take it away. It was the two gyps and I just know that it must be something dead and no doubt stinking. Flo was the one with the object and Kate was trying to take it away. As Flo ran right up to my door, I realized that she had a half grown turkey and it was still alive. I told her to put it down and she did. I am not sure if it survived as it appeared to be badly injured. In all my years of hunting, I have never had a dog catch and fetch a turkey to me.
Adios,
Gary

Run to catch!! Haha

Looks like yours and Jeff's families won't be going hungry during the Great Depression.

Not only does mine catch, she retrieves. Now if I can just get her to clean them I will be in great shape. Not sure the Game Warden would be very proud if he caught me driving back to town with fresh poultry in the wagon.......
