Bears fatter than nomal this year .we have been killing a few bears this fall and we are noticing that they are fatter than they usually would be by this time we have had a very dry year this year in ontario and that makes it even more interesting. I asumed their being less water would mean less food we also had an easy winter last year maybe they had a little extra fat to sarnt with . Just wondering if any body else has found the same thing this year

We have noticed the sane thing, we hunt desert mountainous country last year not a single bear had a half inch of fat on them. We just killed a big bear last week with over an inch of fat in some places and it's just starting,to get cold

Maybe this is mother nature's way of telling us we have a rough winter coming.

We killed a few more bears this week feels good to be back hunting again took some time to go to work we've killed 10 so far this fall all with the hounds and 8 out of 10 were extremely fat 3 inches or more of fat one my wife shot weighed 260 pounds sow we trimed the fat off and bagged it then weighed it on our digital scales it weighed 57 pounds of fat
