320 tracking systems owners beware

Not sure if my dad is the only one to figure this out the hard way, but he ran his 320 when he went hunting with me and I was using my alpha 100 and his collars just quit working and he couldn't track his dogs. Things just kind of went haywire so he called Double U and they told him if you run them close to each other that the alpha 100 will burn the 320 up. Love these gps's just wish they had more info of what to beware of

Thank you for sharing this. How close was he? I assume you mean he was tracking his dogs and you were tracking yours and his hand held got fried. No damage to his collars correct?
Thanks again.

Don't mean to stir anything up but I just got off the phone with Double U and the guy I talked to (a field rep) went back to their service Dept and talked with them. They said no way could an Alpha 100 fry a 320 by being too close. The guy said he hunted with both in the same pocket and he had no problems. He said their service Dept said you could tape them together and it wouldn't hurt a thing. Not stirring anything, just reporting what I was told !

Lionhunter78,

I'm not sure who you talked to in our shop but that is not correct. I have never seen a 320 burned up by an Alpha and I have used them side By Side Often. If you know who you were talking to I would appreciate it so that I can make sure we don't have this type of mis-information happening.
But there is no way that an Alpha is going to damage a 320. the alpha only puts out 2 watts, I've used Radio's up to 50 watts next to the 320 without burnign them up.

This could be a situation where the Alpha collars are over powering the Air waves and so you can't track with your 320, but it's not going to Damage your 320.

If you have a moment can you call and Ask for me personally so I can listen and make sure you have accurate information... I've read this post and I'm letting everyone in my shop know how important it is to make sure we explain to our customers accurate information and don't have mis communications.
Buddy

Good Talking with you, I think I see where the confusion was from, Some time's I'm not the best at explaining things!

Have your Dad swing by the shop and we can get his system up and working.. I think it's just a couple settings that need changed.
