Ideas for dog box

I have an over the rail dog box that I need to add flaps to. The only problem is I’m not sure how I want to do this. I’m not sure if I want to use piano hinges and have them open up or down or add a channel and have a slide in flap. Can anyone provide ideas and pictures of what they have and like?

I don't have any pictures but the over the rail box I built very similar to yours I used 1/8" aluminum on piano hinge. Folded straight up and pinned back to strike rail to hold open. Folded down and used same pin to hold closed. My slide in box I had built by Brian Cerelli also out of aluminum has sliders that you can open and close. I really like the sliders because you can lock them half open so pups cant get out of box.
