has the dog been hit yet? if he/she got brains thats all it takes. thats all that needed to happen to my dog. seen one the other night and i was tryin to kill it but didnt have a gun. spooked it over the river bank toward my dog. never seen her tail tucked so tight and her run so fast in my life. lol. she got a good dose of quills the time she got whapped. also a socker will do the job. when he trees a proky give him some juice, when he trees a coon lay on the praise... good luck in breakin him, its no fun pullin quills, adn take some needle nose with you in the field :D

My dog must be stupid because he loves to eat a porky!!!

He's not real fast either but them porky's never seem to make it to a tree in time.

I've shocked him a few times but it doesn't seem to help.

Have the same problems with skunks.
In fact the other night he killed a skunk and never even barked!!!
I figure he will get sick of the smell sooner or later but he hasen't yet.

I'm a big-game hunter and just coon hunt for fun. I don't think my dogs have ever left a bear race for a skunk or porky before so I don't let it bother me.

ya stupid may have been the wrong word, hard headed more like it. porkys are freakin slow to, so theyll catch em most the time...

Most dogs will just get more aggressive on them after they get quills. Good luck on breaking them. Just shock the crap out of them. I can guarantee after the first 2 my dogs wouldn't touched a 3rd and 4th.
