My name is Hank Weiss. I live in Provo. I have been fascinated with hounds ever since I saw a pack chasin a bobcat on the hillside by my house. I have been reading this forum for a couple years now just cuz its so cool to hear all of the stories and see the pics. I bought a blue tic pup a couple of years ago just just so I could have a hound. I dont even know what a cat track looks like so of course my dog (Axl) is just a good old house pet. I just got divorced so me and Ax are now on our own and he doesn't have the kids to play with so we need to find another reason to get in the mountains more. From reading this forum it is easy to see that this sport isn't cheap. I'm hoping maybe someone might wanna offset their costs a little by letting me tag along on some hunts. I don't know what a reasonable price is or even if this is a reasonable request but PM me if you're interested. I dont even care if my dog is allowed to come cuz I know he just might be a headache. I just wanna see it done!

Also I am from Portland, Or and I visit there often so if anyone from that area is interested that would be great!
Thanx,
Hank

I dont wanna kill lions. I have always thought if I ever learned to do this I would bag a monster if I ever came on one but just one would be good for me for life. It really would.

Ouch! Sore subject...... but I said best "teacher" not "fighter". Although I am not a bad fighter either. I faught Jacen because no one else would and at my worst as well. Even at my best he still destroys me but I would be able to give him a lot more than I did.

I always thought you were pretty good at jitz, and thought if you were in the shape you were when you wrestled you 'd be pretty hard to beat. Heck you were hard to beat most of the time even when you weren't in shape. You're welcome to come go with me Hank, I live north of you about two hours. shoot a PM

The Vise just a heads up here on offering to pay to go on a hunt. In some states like Wyoming only a licensed outfitter can accept compensation to take a person on a hunt. If you pay a person to go on a hunt and they are not a licensed outfitter you can get them in big trouble. Just figured I would let you and whomever takes you know this being as you posted it on a public forum. Don't want to see anyone get in trouble here.

The seat next to me is usually empty in my truck as well Vise, and you're welcome to jump in sometime. But my dog box is about always full, as I have too many potlickers to make room for others.

And thanks for the offer on the Jiu-Jitsu lessons but I'm getting too old for that kinda stuff. I do still like to watch though, and usually tune in to a good boxing match or the UFC and enjoy listening and watching how their skills develop. In my youth I earned a black belt in Goju, or Japanese Style Karate, but in many ways that seems like a lifetime ago. Someone that is educated in martial arts is usually welcome in my truck.......

Jacen never said that I was just messing with you as I saw both your fights with him.Jacen is a super nice guy and I don't think he would ever say anything disrespecrful about one of his opponents. If you ever want to ride along with me in the summer on some bear hunts over here around Boise your welcome.Sent you a pm.

Oh I totally knew you were just giving me a hard time and I surely knew Jacen wouldnt say anything. That guy is the most humble fighter and he could easily go large with the whole thing. He really should get busy and make his way to TUF.
I was just firing back to safe whatever face I could but I wasnt offended at all just jabbin back.
Thanks everyone for the PM's and offers to take me along. I guess to address the legal issue I will be paying for gas.

Hank

Glad to see you got some offers Vise ! Hope you hook up with some of them and have a great time.
No big deal I am sure because these guys seem to know you. BUT paying for gas is compensation.Know someone up here in New England who got bagged for guiding without a license for taking gas money and meals.Bull**** I know but it happened.Better to just go for free if you know what I mean !!

If you are down in Oregon, shoot me a pm if you wanna chase bobcats.

Cannot and will not accept any type of compensation. As Bighorn said, its illegal here in Oregon. I don't believe cleaning some poop out of the kennels is compensation, you would be doing it for the love of hounds

Hope you find someone to take you.
