Those old cat dogs are pretty dang smart and you are to my friend. My years hunting cats in eastern Montana taught me a lot about cold. When it gets down below zero and stays it's about like putting fish in the freezer they don't smell much till they thaw out a little. Also sucking that cold dry air up many dogs frost their lungs and this impairs them and also shortens their life.
If you been catching bobs about every morning you are lucky and the dogs and the cats need a break. LOL!
