frozen track

would it be harder for a dog to run a frozen track that has not broken thru the snow, or could you expect the same outcome if it had broke thru the snow

If they walk on top of the snow there is next to no scent at all. I would turn loose on the froze track at about ten am when it starts to warm up.

I failed to mention that i was talking about Bobcats. the dogs were just having a hard time staying on the track. Thank you for the info

Once that track starts thawing out, how long it stays runnable, depends a lot on what the temp was, when it was made and how fast it is thawing out.
