It seems to me that these collars(material) will not be able to hold up under extreme conditions such as coon hunting and bear hunting!!

I personally have not had any problems with mine. Dogs run through thick manzanita, cat claw, scrub oak, and plenty of cactus and boulders and the collar isn't showing any wear yet.

bluedogs249,

Try and go to your local electric store and purchase some shrink sleevs. put them over your collars and use a heat gun to shrink them over the old ones. they work great and you can collar code them as well.

They are doing great out here in the sub-zero snow and ice , brushand cliff and all the heck we put em thru out here!! The only thing I am concerned about at this point is the battery life on a long run cold trailing a lion... I'm not convinced they can last long enough for what I need them to...

One other thing is to make sure they are ON and TRACKING! If the tracking gets turned off, then you have to go back into the menu and select Start Tracking again. They are not as easy as just turning them on and off you go. You have to check to make sure it says they are tracking. Ask me how I know!
