Hey, I've just been out of the loop for a little while. I was just wondering how hide prices were doing this year. I haven't heard any news yet. I'm out in Oregon and last year for western cats guys were getting around $100 bucks. Just figgered I'd find out before I went haulin my cats to the sale.

One of our fur buyers we sell to here in Colorado just paid a guy $500 total for 3 bobs...they were finished hides...nice cats...not to shiny for three prime cats

I hear they're supposed to bring a pretty fair price at the Prineville sale but you'd never know

In Eastern Oregon I am averaging $375.00 per cat and have only had one top $500.00.
Last year everyone was averaging over $500.00 it seemed like,and two years ago the average was around $325.00. So in my opinion the fur season is going good. Can't always be way up out of control or we would't have any cats. I always do best selling to a private fur buyer that lives here. I get the same or better money than the guys taking there cats to prineville and I don't have to pay any comission.

No kidding Tim....It's forcasted to be 30 buck a hide, tops from Western Oregon.

30 bucks? Not sure they're worth haulin to the sale for those prices. Not even sure they're worth shootin out for that.

I read that some sales are being cancelled because buyers are not commiting to show up...
