Salt and Pepper

Think Tank is an organization whose members have an IQ of 140 or higher. A few years ago, there was a Think Tank convention in San Francisco, and several members lunched at a local café. While dining, they discovered that their saltshaker contained pepper and their peppershaker was full of salt. How could they swap the contents of the bottles without spilling, and using only the implements at hand? Clearly this was a job for Think Tank! The group debated and presented ideas, and finally came up with a brilliant solution involving a napkin, a straw, and an empty saucer.

They called the waitress over to dazzle her with their solution. "Ma'am," they said, "we couldn't help but notice that the peppershaker contains salt and the saltshaker—"

"Oh," the waitress interrupted. "Sorry about that." She unscrewed the caps of both bottles and switched them.

Hardhittin, are you implying that a woman couldn't possibly have an IQ of 140 or higher? Or that they couldn't possibly be part of a think tank? That is very short sighted of you ;-)

I didn't see anywhere in the joke that the think tank was all men.

Now wait a minute, the joke didn't say the Think Tank was only men! I think the joke is implying that waitresses can't have an iq over 140 :? I don't know but that's one job I could never manage to handle

Silly me

I was looking forward to the other methods they were proposing!

Sometimes, IQ-pride gets in the way of problem solving...
