Arizona is no longer year round lion hunting except for a few quota units. Is there any state that allows you to hunt lions in the summer months? June and July specifically. I don't care if it's just pursuit only just wanna run the dogs without gettin in trouble.

Just stay in AZ! The units that are open, at least the ones that I know of, are great, and hold lots of deer and big cats. You just have to start a little earlier in the morning to beat the heat. Maybe AZ hunters need to petition the AZGFD to start a pursuit only season in the summer months in the currently closed units.

I'm with Grzyadams4x4. I have been saving those quota units for the June1-Sept1 when nothing else is open. Otherwise I will be hitting the pursuit only season in Southern Utah for bear and Lion.

Tejas boys and she is mighty big place. Trouble is it's hotter than the hubs of hell and fences and mostly all private land. But in this land of captialiszm make a bunch of money, invest wisely, and trust to luck and you will have plenty to buy a right sizey spread out yonder in west tejas. Oh Damn the bad luck things are sort of running off the rails, and the economic programs is sort of in the shitter if you know what I mean! LOL!

Oh well just come hunt them dogs on my place, it isn't too big but occasionaly you know a dog or two will break the rules and cross the fence on to all the govt. land you and I pay for. Oh well we better go see what they are up to. Reckon? LOL!

Thanks for all the info and those of you who sent pm's i'll be getting back to you.

Zach and Travis, there are some great units however, I don't know if you are aware but if you trail across a quota unit boundary and do not immediately pull your dogs you are pursuing big game out of season. Like I did in 22 last summer....... trailed across 4 peaks road, it's a hassle, I would rather go somewhere where it's a few degrees cooler and a lot less hassle if that place exists. Besides I'm young and foolish might as well give er a whirl and see if the grass is greener on the other side.
