What do you think of Sierra Pacific ? Are they a good company for hunters in general?

I work alot on their ground. Nice roads and gates, as long as you don't tear them up there is usually not a problem. Helps to know the foresters. Hope that answers your question.

No they lock there gates. They dont like hound hunters.

Livetohunt, we hunt right there near your town every fall and have no trouble. Heck we even talked to the fire patrol while hunting. As long as your not tearing up the gates and roads when wet there is no trouble. If gates are open like they are in early fall a person is welcome to hunt.
They do lock the gates after its wet.

When Diamond Lands had it all the few roads that had gates were never closed. Now that SPI has it they added more gates and keep many of them shut year round. I dont know where you hunt around here but I know that they are closed more then they are open. I know the fire patrol he worked with my grandfather for Diamond.

Hey Stitch after reading what I wrote I want to let you know I was not trying to come aross like an ass. I just dont like they way SPI keeps there gates locked. I know in some spots they do keep the gates open during deer hunting. But I also know that on many of there roads they lock them. Even before its raining I know of many of there gates that are locked year round. I know that there are some guys both hunters and others that tear up the roads and even there gates. But for the most part we (as in all outdoor men and women) should not be looked down on for what a few of the bad apples in our sport do.

I also agree we should not be looked down upon for what we do. And I agree there is some that are locked year around but usually a guy can get around on the main lines good enough to hear them. I guess we have to take what we can get. If the timber companies and the USFS had there way they would not have any of us out there but they want you to let them know what one sees.
Go figure
