I have hunted with Sampson and I wouldn't feed him and know others that feel the same but if we all like the same kind of dogs we would all be running the same thing

I've heard nothing but good about this dog, not just on here but from a lot of other people. He's a reproducing s.o.b. just like the Topper again dog. Paco and one other person on here are the only people I've heard say they don't like him, that's out of probably fifteen or so people that I have heard talk about him. If Lloyd Nielson is hunting him, I 'd bet he's not a pile.

I respect Paco's opinion and he is right about not everybody liking the same type of dog.I know the line that Paco hunts and let me tell you they are great dogs. And by the way the cross well on the Sampson Nance dogs.
I have several males that are out of a House's Cheif. Shives' Goldhill Tom female and such bred back to Topper Again and mercy me they are fine dogs. Big long legged black and white dogs with huge bawl mouthes, cold noses, and they handle and will blow the top out of a tree. The Washburn dogs crossed on the Nance also seem to excell.
I have only been around Sampson a little bit in the field and he tried to do what he does when I was there.
Lloyd is one of the best lion hunters I know and he will tell you straight up that although Sampson catches more game than any other dog around there he may not be the best lion dog in the country. What Sampson does best is reproduce. It seems crossed on several good registered lines and grade lines like Jeff's dogs he puts pups on the ground that can kick his behind.Dogs like that don't come around often.
I have seen a number of dogs out of Sampson that were outstanding cold trailers and catch dogs from an early age, and that is what you are looking for. You are not going to buy Sampson anyway but you will be getting the blood he has that does reproduce.

I would just like to add that, dogs that can TRUELY out reproduce themselves, are scarcer than hens teeth.

Thanks Liontracker for posting that.
Folks this is Topper Again's Nash. This was a young photo of him he is coming 3 now. He is a super fast drifting trail dog that can slow down and cold trail. He has a huge quivering bawl on track and a short bawl chop on the tree. He started trailing good at 6 months and is about the easiest handling and straghtest you dog you could hope for.
He is not out of Sampson but he is out of Topper Again Andy Jensen's dog that is closely related to Sampson. His mother is Nocturnal Sassy who is Nailor and Goldhill Tom bred and a heck of a lion and bear dog owned by Dan V in Idaho. I have other littermate to this dog Toby who I can't show a photo of becasue he is so ugly. LOL! Not really he is the same type and even a better cold trail hound and louder on the track. These two dogs are a little bigger than most of the Sampson dogs and they run about 58-64 pounds with lots of leg. This could come from Topper he is a real tall leggy hound that can fly on a track.
These hound dogs are a sickness my friends, I have had it for 40 years and it only get worse. LOL!

He is almost the same breeding as Topper again but not the same litter and there was one cross made that doesn't match him with Topper. Sampson is a year younger than Topper Again.
