I read somewhere that guys have broke dogs from running red fox but their dogs still chase greys . I think it was in Walk With Wick. If thats true I think it would be possible.

It is not hard to break a lion dog off bobcats, and most dry ground lion hunters do this. You can't be wasting time running bobcats and fox when you need to catch a lion and you wnat them dogs looking for lions sign,

Now then breaking a hard bobcat dog off a fresh lion track is not as easy. the overwhelming desire to chase feline scent is stirred when a rank old tom track that is fresh is crossed. It is just so much more scent than the bobcat dog is use to working with. You can however break them from cold trailing old lion tracks.

I don't have to worry much about breaking mine off either of those in this area they are nearly extinct. Now if I break my dogs off mustangs, elk, and coyotes I might not ever hear them bark. LOL!

I started my good female lion dog on barn cats. She is 7 yrs old now and wont even look at a barn cat any more. She broke herself. Makes it kind of nice around home.
