i may have a job offer in granby,co in next few weeks.is this a good or bad area to be a houndman.looks close to denver-are there lots of people on the public land biking,hiking etc. how are the access roads to natl forest,? as in locked gates. how about bear and cougar season lengths-training seasons-please help if anyone lives in this area of colorado :?

There is no bear hunting with dogs. The cat season runs from usually the Monday before Thanksgiving to March 31. No training season. You can train on coyotes and racoon year round except for June. I don't know about the locked gates in that area but when the elk rifle seasons close most gates are locked if there is no one living down the road. Granby is closer to Denver though and may have a little bit different management theory. It is up to the area forest service manager. They would be good ones to call.
