Hey BGH,
I'm neighbors and pals with Ann Gockley (and TJ) up there in Elk Ridge and she mentions your name from time to time. Seems like she is related to you if I remember right... She is from Clawson originally I believe.
But she always brings you up and probably 40% of it is good stuff!! Don't worry about the other 60% she is saying!!

Happy hunting!

Yeah. My wifes sister. 40%???? WOW! I've got her fooled about 40% more than I thought! She always was pretty gullable.
She keeps telling me there is a hound guy up there is Elk Ridge but I didn't believe her until now. I thought everyone way up there in Elk Ridge was way too high up on the class latter to chase a bunch of hounddogs around the mountian!
Happy Hunting to you too!
Brett

OK, well I might have stretched it a bit... 20% is probably closer to the truth.

I was just trying to be nice. I should probably clarify when I say I live in Elk Ridge...
I live in a tent in the foothills above Elk Ridge, but technically just inside the city limits!

As for social classes and ladders and all, I'll tell you where I stand. Walk into my favorite bar Hawns, put on a blindfold and spin in circles, then toss a beer bottle back over your shoulder... whoever it hits, I'm probably two rungs below them on the social ladder.
(Which would put me two rungs above anyone from Emery county right?)
But be careful tossing beer bottles around Hawns, more than likely you'll hit a woman Kevin has slept with or one of his kids!
Ya, Ann was too ashamed to come right out and say your name, but I just kind of figured it out.

20% is probably getting a little closer but thanks for making me feel good for a minute. You have clearly never been to Emery County. We don't even know what a social ladder is. I just read about it in some magazine last time I was up in the big city. I am still trying to figure out what a rung is!
I don't know Kevin but if he has that many kids with that many lady friends, I'm jealous. Props to him; and I may have to go try that bar out!

I've clearly never been to Emery county? Huh? Dude, I spent my summers down there growing up. Our best friends owned a big ranch right outside of Moore called "Cedar Ridge Land and Livestock" and I spent more time down there than anywhere.
Used to be a little greasy spoon called Merlin's but it's probably gone. Killed a million rabbits, pheasants, ducks, doves, caught fish after fish... and some of it was even legal.
But with all you poachin' locals, a guy like me can fly right under the radar.

I know your county well amigo!!
One of my best friends up here just got tired of this valley a few months ago, sold his house and moved to Ferron. So watch out, we are invading!!

I ended up on a bear hunt this spring down there with some fellars named Guymon's from down your way. I mentioned you and they said you were surely a relative...
I asked, "Why ain't you hunting with him?" They told me, "We didn't realize he was out of prison already."

I know Emery county well dude. I also know their jail makes a mean baloney sandwich!!

Those are some great bear pictures! I can't wait to go on my first hunt and get some experience under my belt so my dogs can have fun like that.

how long is your bear season in utah?

Utah season is 2 months in the spring and one month during the summer for pursuit only and then a fall hunt but only if you have a tag.
The dead bear was about a 6 hour run until they finally had him in the tree. Saw him twice with the dogs on him during the run.
