I personally like walkers but i am not collar blind, i have walkers, Plots, and a blue tick.... i have seen good dogs of every breed..... the lines of walkers i run are house breed... and decendents of that line. i prefere them because they are colder nosed for lion hunting and also very fast for the bear hunting, but they are not supper gritty, but dont get me wrong they catch bear. and they "usually" dont need staples when its over.

Im really interested in this as well. If someone had a chance to share a little about the more famous or popular walker lines I would sure appreciate it. Im a little more into cats myself but I would enjoy hearing about it all. :D
The fascination of hunting cougar with hounds lies in the discovery and unravelling of a complicated trail, watching an honest hound strike out on a track that has been found and read, and finally bringing the animal to bay so that you can see it for yourself---Jerry A. Lewis

We have treed a lot of bear with dogs out of Yadkin River Tar Rattler breeding and also some Houses Lipper. These dogs were super coon dogs but we have had some good bear dogs out of this blood.

talk to Andy Jensen(twist), Scott Sciaretta(spanky), Mike Leonard, or Devin Staker(Mr. Pacojack). they know their $h&% when it comes to the old lines of walkers for big game and small game. each of them could probably tell you their likes and dislikes of certain strains and why they are running and bredding what they have.
