Well the "bird nesting law" has expired for the year and the weather has cooled for a few days.

Hope everyone is getting the dogs out for a good coyote race or two..... :?

I looks like your hounds are going good. But posting those pictures gives the fish cops all the ammo they need to slap your hand. I would suggest keeping those pictures to your self, you Oregon houndsmen have not much left to hunt, why make it harder on yourselves then it needs to be?

If you are hunting the res Don, The bird nesting would not apply, would it, don't you have another set of rules once you cross on to the res, the anytime, anywhere rule applies for dumping dogs.

Bird nesting or any other state law does not apply on the res. however, hunting tribal land is a privilege. The tribes that allow me to hunt have stricter management objectives than ODF&W. So no it is not a anytime anywhere opportunity.

I just like to get out into bigger country and catch those coyotes like everyone else......

Thanks for filling me in on how it works south of the 49th. Up here in Canada it is a totally different as the natives can hunt year around on the res or off. There is no game law that seems to bother them. Down there it seems like they have a handle on the animals and conservation, up here it is the exact opposite, nothing but pilaging the animals and selling them on the black market or leaving them to rot if they die to far from the car. Our government has no balls to deal with the problem. Good luck on the coyote running.

The tribes down here are "able" to do as they wish on the res but have to follow state law off the res. Most tribes around here are far better atwildlife management than the state. Lots of game cams and other sources of accurate counting.

Good luck up north.....would like to hear more about the hunting up there.
