My dislike for the dog is due to me hunting with it, not due to any person or group of people like you suggest.

My phone number is on here you can call me if you honestly want to know. I have a dog out of Topper Agian and he is a very nice dog, yes he has his holes and there are things I don't like about him but the good far outways the bad and for the time he has spent in the woods he is a very very nice dog. I would put him up agianst sampson bullet for bullet anyday of the week.
Would I ever get another dog out of Topper Agian? Hell yes?(If I could afford one)Am I going to tell you they are perfect? No. I have only had one of them and and maybe I just had good luck but It was good enough luck I would recomend one to someone.
If you want the perfect dog, I don't have one and I don't think Andy will claim he has one either, but if you want someone that calls a spade a spade then give either one of us a call. And no I don't know Andy at all, never seen the Topper Again dog, just one pup out of him.
Like I said if you really want to know give me a call if you want to see this Topper Agian pup come hunt with him.

These are both good stud dogs in my opinion. Both have proven to reproduce if you breed them to a good female. Remember the fem,ale makes up a lot of the qualities of these hounds. So you just can't take old Topper or Sampson and throw them on some old walker bitch with no background of reproducing or catching an expect quality pups.
I haven't hunted with either of them enough to tell you which I think is better as a lion dog. Sampson has been hunted hard by guys that know the country and can be put on tracks off the roads and he is a catch dog for sure they tell me. I guess he is a pretty decent rig dog and bear dog as well. Topper on the other hand has been hunted many different ways. He has been free cast hunting on horseback a lot and has proven to be a great strike dog who can wind and pick up strikes from great distances. He has been rig hunted and is an awesome rig dogs and a run to catch bear dog with a lot of grit. He is easy handling and extreemly fast on a track. He is a good bobcat dog and that is saying as lot. But again these dogs are old Topper Again is 10 and Sampson is 9 so they are winding down. but their owners have taken steps to see that this breeding will be collected for the future.
JUst don't forget the female is ALL IMPORTANT

Well,
I have wondered the same thing for awhile now. I have wondered enough that I actually have a young dog from both now. They are both males and are young enough that this year will be the first real year to hunt them together. The young male from Topper was on 7 cats (lions) the last few weeks of last years Utah season, and I can tell you he came along pretty quick. The new pup out of Sampson is growing up and doing some good things as we begin training a little bit this summer..
Should be a fun year watching some juvenile Wakka dogs start to roll. Bottom line though I guess is they are still just pups from parents who are only hound dogs. Even though the recipe should be a good one, I still got a better than average chance of ruining these young dogs.. We shall see.. KattSkratch..

bluewalkerlionhound, I will try and respond to this issue as for what Paco said Topper Again is not the perfect hound and I have never told anyone he is. What he is, is a biggame hound that is a very out standing reproducer of biggame hounds. Anyone that says they have the perfect hound is full of it. I did alot of homework before purchasing Topper and found he had a pretty impressive track record as far as himself and his offspring. The biggame houndsmen form has been a great tool as there is the chance for anyone to tell the BAD along with the good and if this would be the deciding factor on the two hounds I guess everyone knows my choice! As for TOPPER AGAIN he is just a hound he has four legs a tail and can pack the dog food away with the best of them but he can catch game and so can the majority of his offspring. later Andy

One man's trash, is another man's treasure...and is never so true, as when it pertains to hounds. Besides, if a man believes everything he hears, he will be chasing his tail the rest of his life. If you want to know the truth about a dog, don't ask a guy who dislikes the dog...ask a guy who likes the dog, to honestly tell you the dogs' faults. Would you ask the enemy, how they liked the way you were fighting a war with them?
