Had my plott puppy and an older plott hound of mine over to buddys property had a coon in a cage was gonna see if I could get my puppy interested in it here lately my older dog I bought in June just wasn't looking so good when it came to treeing coons to be honest!! He was doing real good at first he just don't seem like he even cares to tree um to be honest!! Well I showed them the coon it just was turning dark turned the coon loose then set set the dogs loose well I saw where the coon went and it went straight away well the dog made right and went right down the fence line for some reason came to some den holes and went absolutely nuts and jumped the fence!! I was following in hot pursuit behind them when I walked into a big ole cloud of fox spray piss smell ya know it when you walk into it theirs no smell like it in the woods!! In no time the dog was two hundred yards away and across the ole blue river the fox took a right when he crossed the river and was heading for cider mill road!! The old plott was mile ahead of me already luckily the ole fox decided to bay up quickly in a bulldoze pile or I could ended up who knows where!! That was the fastest I ever saw that dog run a track he usually pussyfoots around on coon!! And now I know why I have been finding my dogs three miles away at night!! If anybody in Northern Indiana hunts fox or coyotes that would want to run fox or coyotes with me sometime send me an email I am thinking about running them at the state areas this winter on yotes and fox the more blockers the better!!
