I've had Decker Terriers, but i only used them on trailing woumbded elk and pigs. They were great at it.. I do know of a guy near me that breeds them for bear and hogs. He is a well know guide and gets the job done with them. His Decker Rat Terriers are pushing 50+ pounds and have a ton of hunt in them..

My hunting partner runs Deckers. Hes been a breeder for years. His favorite dog "Little" had his rear leg chewed off by a pitt bull and he ran him on hogs for another 2 or 3 years until his luck ran out. little dog had a great nose and would be the first to strike often. His bloodline is still prevalent in my neck of the woods. Awful moody little dog though.

I have a 7 year old rat terrier the is 2nd to none. I have never bred him and he is about the last of a great hunting blood tht was around these parts years ago. At first i hunted him on deer only and in the last two years he has seen about everything... great bobcat dog. He knows when we are hunting bucks (rigs a big ol buck like a bear dog)and he knows when i load up the hounds we are chasing bears, cats, coon, fox. He will fight to the death and there is no quit in him. If any of you guys are iterested in using him as a stud send me a Pm. I have been looking for a female to breed to but its going to be hard to find one that i think is worthy...I have been offered 10k for this dog he is no joke
