I only ask because earlier this year I had a lion caught in the bluffs and lost my garmin astro somehow

then I lost a shock collar off a dog about a week later. I went ahead and ordered another astro and now I've lost one of the collars for it.
And then this weekend I lost my 6 dog Trashbreaker G2. perfect just what I need, to spend more money. I've lost too many cameras to count. this is why I don't have nice stuff. lol.
I think the luckiest I ever got was a tracking collar, I took it off and hung it on the mirror not unusual but put it on the passenger mirror (which was unusual) and drove off and forgot it was there got home and I was like wait wheres that collar?? I was huntin about 80 miles from home so I drove back up the mountain popped a signal and had a real weak signal from out in the flats

thought for sure the collar was broken or someone had found it. Headed back and found it! It was on the side of the road about 20 miles closer to home.

LOL Most of the pack rats in the country I hunt have Elk skin insulated gloves in their nest. I have lost so many pair that it is embarassing to admit to.

I almost lost my antenna the same way. Put it on top of the truck to load up the dogs and forgot it. Well once I realized it we went back and it was sitting on the side of the road without a scratch! For some reason though I keep losing leashes.

I lost my Trash breaker 3 times found it twice but had to replace it once. Lost my Astro once overnight and had to go back track the next day but was lucky enough to find it.
But the biggest was I lost one of my mules. We hit a lion track and the hounds went up a nasty steep brushy canyon and I had a couple of guys with me and we decided instead of circling around we would try and keep up them which in hindsight was a mistake. Sometimes in this country I'll pack one of my mules with some survival or overnight gear just in case so I was riding a mule and leading the other.. well it got rough and I had to get off and lead so I just tied the lead rope around the pack mules neck and told those guys not to worry I do this all the time and she will just follow. After an hour or so of bushwhacking and trying to keep up or at least stay within hearing of the hounds I looked back and asked those guys if they had seen that mule.. nope the last they had seen her was down below. I still didn't worry much and remembered that they had left a extra horse tied to the trailer I thought well that mule is smarter than the rest of us and just went back to the trailer.. well we never made it to the hounds and ended up not getting back to the trailer until midnight and no mule..
The next morning I went out and found the hounds in some bluffs and then went back up that nasty canyon and found her later that day in a little level spot with grass up to her belly and a pool of water in the creek... she had every thing she needed right there and just stayed

About 20 pairs of gloves, a leatherman, a rain slicker, a jacket, couple of wallets, countless leashes and couplers, cell phones, hand held radio's and probably a bunch of stuff I dont even know I lost
I even losed the saddle pad off of the horse I was riding. I was leading off a steep nasty ridge and was using a neoprene saddle pad. The horse was pretty lathered up and the pad must of snagged on a branch and got jerk out the rear. Didnt notice until I got to the bottom of the canyon. Had the blanket still so i said screw it and left it. A year later I was leading off the same nasty ridge again and found it. Left it there in a tree in case i needed some day LOL.
Brett I lost a horse in the Gila behind Yellow mountain for 4 days. That was a long F'n walk home!!!
I guy could get some good equipment following me around

I've lost a little of everything including my wedding band. Have to agree somebody could follow me around and come out with some nice stuff. I guess the best one though was losing the box and the dogs. Was coon hunting with a buddy. We had turned some pups out with a finished dog. The pups didn't go. Old dog was running. We decided to load the pups and keep up or get ahead with the truck and give those pups another chance. We jumped in his old rig and tore out up the mountain. Got up to the next creek crossing. The old dog had already crossed. We ran to the back of the truck. No dogs, hell we didn't even have the dog box. The look on our faces must have been priceless. Went back down the mountain to find the box setting up on the doors in the road. At least we were behind a gate on a private road. Moral of the story, in steep country always shut the tailgate or fasten your box in the bed of the truck.

I lost a $200 Alaskan back pack with leapold binos, gortex bibs and jacket, all my back packing gear, $400 tent, $100 pad and all my food once. Someone stole it while I was after the biggest buck I had ever seen. I was packing in and only about 2 miles in I spotted this buck and went after him. I layed my pack next to the creek thinking I was the only one dumb enough to be back that far and was gone most of the day. When I returned empty handed in the dark I looked for two hours before I went to sleep in a laural thicket and started looking at daylight. I found where I had left it cause the leaves were pan caked. I then thought a bear had grabbed it cause it had food in it. I went to this old over grown trail to get higher hoping to see it from there and found boot tracks in the mud. I guess they saw it from there. I was pissed and vowed I would kill the person carrying it if I saw them. I never saw another soul and spent two more nights in a shelter i built and ate a squirrel I shot with a 7mm.

I did kill a spike thou. Mainly because I was hungry and ate both tender loins and half a back strap before I came home. I lost a rugar mark 11 with a ziess scope on it one time but found it. I also lost a Benelli that I never found. Layed it ontop of the camper top after a hard day grouse hunting and drove off. I lost every shell I had in my bag along with all my duck calls (some were collectors and damn near priceless) when my lab slide on the boat and knocked it in, in 20 foot of water. I didn't have it zipped up.

I just turned around and came home. Now my friend jumped up and knocked his Benelli in once duck hunting. It was in about 10 foot of water. He got nekkid and dove in after it. After what had to be 5 minutes and diving down many times he found it. We broke ice with the boat going in and it was 15 degrees and the wind was howling. I thought he was going to die before I got the heater fired up. He shook for 30 minutes or more uncontrolably and I had to hold his coffee for him to get it down cause he spilled the first cup. That was just stupid. I'd just counted my loses.

My wife has always told me if it wasn't tied on I'd probably have lost more than I have in the field az, lols! Somebody posted over under Jeff Allen that his Grandpa dog lost his nutts, but I haven't had that problem yet! A few odds and ends for sure, but money lost in my gas tanks has to rate pretty darn highly I'd say..............

Hey Mike this year at Elk camp up in the Pecos we lost the mules every night and would take too long to find them in the morning even with bells on them they would get in the timber and just stand still... so I put a tracking collar on one worked good.
Along with the other things I mentioned I've lost tons of the usual stuff but I did have one great find.. matter of fact Bency was with me from here on the forum.. we were riding along and I looked down and seen one of those straps that holds your binoculars close to your chest and jumped off my mule and I thought man I've needed a pair of these.... and when I picked them up there was a pair of 10x42 swarovski's tied too them... I called everyone I could think of and even called swarovski with the serial number but couldn't find the owner....
