advice for dog kennel

Postby Andrew Badham » Wed Jul 03, 2013 12:02 pm

I am building a dog pen 150' x 200' to let them have more room to get exercise. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and if there is any advice or ideas that could be offered.
Thanks.

Just go down to Hound Dog Hotel in this forum and look through it. You probably will get some good ideas even if you don't go as all out as in this forum. This setup is absolutely amazing. Makes me jealous for sure. :o

We fenced in an acre with 4' hog wire. Run a hot wire off the ground About 6" so they won't dig out. After they all get zapped a few times, they will respect the fence. Just leave the hot wire up, but you won't need the charger on but maybe once a month the, just for A reminder. Works great, happy dogs.

Do you leave your dogs in it all the time? How many dogs do you put in your pen?
Thanks

I have a big Kennel like this- right now there is only 2 but I have had a dozen before. Just have to make sure they all get along. Feeding can be tricky but all depends on your dogs.

Mine is five foot wire buried 4 inches with a hot wire on top

I just got mine done. I used 4' goat fence with 4 hot wires on it. I built a shed which is half in the pen that has dog houses in it where I will feed them. I have 6 dogs in there now and thhey are getting allong very well so far. They seem very happy no barking from bordem
