Trap Problem...

Postby VirginRiverTrapper » Sun Nov 27, 2011 12:06 am

I feel really stupid for asking but I just got some new traps for free from this guy and the chain links only have that swivel thing. I've been putting a small peice of rebar through it until I know what to do. I'm planning to use heavy duty stakes for my traps.

Start by asking a question! What do you need to know?

Yep, best to ask, and be specific as possible. It sounds like you are talking about the swivel at the end of the chain. Which is fine to use for your stake for most game. Some game does require more. Most of my traps have a double stake swivel on them attached to the stock swivel. Effectively giving the trap 3 swivel points. Not using 2 stakes then gives you a 4th. But this might not hold some game. Almost impossible to pull a double staked trap, when staked at a slight angle, not straight down.

Just ask. Most trappers are happy to share.

Sorry I forgot about that part lol. Its that small peice on the chain, Its a little smaller than the chainlinks. Thats all there is at the end of the chain. So basically what i'm asking is where can i buy a swivel such as a double stake swivel?
